Perspective

This image uses a bit of forced perspective. To get the image I was lying on the ice and doing my best to line up the rising sun with the pieces of ice. The slabs were thin enough to glow as the sun back lit them. Fire and ice.

This was also a five shot bracket using my Canon 5D Mk4, Tamron SP 28-75mm f/2.8, ISO 50, 75mm, f/10

Badlands

I recently returned from a trip to South Dakota where I visited the Badlands and the Black Hills.  Although this was not a designated photography trip, I did manage to get the camera out a few times along the way.  As I find time to sort and develop the images, I will be sharing the results with you.

Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, Tamron SP 28-75mm F/2.8, ISO 50, f/11, 20 sec, 10 stop ND filter.

In hindsight, I think I could have gone with a lesser stop filter and shorter exposure to maintain more detail in the water.

The reward of being willing to get oneself out of bed early in the morning are moments like this.

Canon 5D Mark IV, ISO 50, 15mm, f/10, 3.2 sec and the usual mucking about to achieve the desired effect.
