Over there, off to one side, another tree. Two trees, each watching the other, keeping the other company. One obviously older, having seen more, able to share with the other knowledge of the past. They both watch, as the man on the side of the road takes pictures before vanishing down the October Road.
This one tree, standing alone, bare, receiving the morning sun on it’s bark and branches. It catches the eye of a passing motorist who stops his journey on the October Road and captures a moment.
A brief stop along a northern Minnesota highway to observe nature in motion.
A tree farm perhaps. Several acres of trees planted in tidy rows.
Cold, so very cold. Not the kind of day anyone should venture out without proper preparation. It goes beyond being uncomfortable, it’s not just that you can harm your body, it’s the kind of cold that can kill the unprepared. Take it seriously.
Strange beings are hiding among the innocent trees, but you have to change your angle of view to find them. One has to wonder what else might be lurking in the forest.
Inverting an image can sometimes present a fresh perspective on a subject. In this instance, the sky ends up appearing to be in the right place, but the tree seems “awkward” as though it were shot from an unusual position.
Somehow all my leading lines got tangled, good luck following them.
