Glensheen Mansion is located in Duluth, Minnesota on the shore of Lake Superior and is available for tours throughout the year. Our local camera club is invited a few times each year to access the grounds and share our photos with the public.
The Glensheen Mansion in Duluth hosted another event for photographers the other day to allow access to the colorful lights on the grounds. Some of the lights had been acquired from a local resident that could no longer continue the tradition of decorating her backyard on the shore of Lake Superior. It has made a nice addition to the festive feel at the mansion.
This past Saturday morning, the historic Glensheen mansion in Duluth was opened to photographers for a two hour opportunity to wander with cameras. Glensheen was decked out for the season with twenty five decorated trees, lots of trim and all the little knickknacks you would expect this time of year. Outdoors, the grounds were filled tacky inflatables and other statuettes. Lake Superior added a few touches to the shoreline with some ice.
The Glensheen Mansion is a popular stop in Duluth for those wishing to experience the history and grandeur of Lake Superior living. On occasion the grounds and buildings are opened to the public for free for photography events. I made my first trip this morning to scout it out and capture a few images.
