Although it was only three degrees above zero, I was warmed by the beauty and warmth of the rising sun over Lake Superior.

Fortunately I did not get frostbite while capturing this sunrise at nine degrees. Which would seem warm after our recent cold snap with temps hitting 20+ below zero.

That’s not calm water reflecting the lighthouse, it’s ice.

I have not often seen this type of banding in the morning sky, but thought it was pretty interesting.
