Every now and then, the weather stays cold enough to freeze Lake Superior and create ice that is safe to walk on. Ice anglers, skaters and sightseers love to take advantage of this rare opportunity to venture out on the crystal clear ice. I like it for the abstract patterns that are generated by the cracks in the ice.
