Thanksgiving 2021 was a quiet affair, no company, no entertaining and no stuffing a turkey or myself. I took advantage of the reasonably nice day, (for November) and strolled along the repaired Lakewalk in the Canal Park area of Duluth, Minnesota. In April and October of 2018 there were big storms that did major damage to the Lakewalk and other areas along the lake shore. This past summer, the Lakewalk was reopened to foot traffic, bikes and horse carriages. As part of the rip-rap repair, they placed a large number of flat boulders that are easy to walk on. I’m sure this will be popular with kids. Another popular area that was damaged is Gitchi Gami Park, also known as Brighton Beach. This area is currently closed while it undergoes restoration.
